I have always been a woman who tries to fit each piece she wears and does not compromise on being stylish even when she goes shopping.
And my favorite were the high-heels.
I say “were” because I completely changed my image and style when I learnt that I was pregnant with little Miss Bennu.
From the moment I learnt I was pregnant, I have been wearing only sneakers. Since it is an important issue for me, I first bought a few sneakers of various colors with soft soles and fitting the feet completely.
Then I started searching through the Internet and the magazines about maternity clothing and I learnt that underwear was as important as footwear.
I read that buying cotton clothing would be the right choice. According to what I learnt from my readings, ventilation of the skin through cotton fabric provides protection against urinary tract infections.
I bought wireless and non-compression bras since my breasts are getting bigger. I think it would not be a surprise for you if I told you that I began wearing bras 2 sizes bigger than my normal size.
I got used to sudden rushes of fever which began right at the beginning of my pregnancy. I also got used to wearing clothes over clothes, looking like a cabbage, so to speak. I filled my wardrobe with clothes made out of cotton, linen or wool.
I wrote that I care for my footwear and underwear the most while shopping. I bought jeans manufactured for pregnant women along with several “go-to” maternity clothes. These jeans fitting the waist and belly completely both keep you warm and protect you. Furthermore, they are stylish.
I matched these jeans with a few linen blouses as well as lots of my husband’s oversized t-shirts.
Since pregnancy is a 9-month process, I kept the fashionista in me busy with other things for a while. I did not go shopping so much.
But surely, I bought things for Bennu each time I couldn’t buy something for myself. My daughter has already a very stylish wardrobe.
I would recommend you wear the following during pregnancy:
Sweat suits,
High-waisted jeans,
Large t-shirts, I matched the t-shirts with neck scarves and necklaces,
Cotton underwear,
Soft bras,
And the must-haves: Sneakers.
Even I, who like wearing fancy clothes, managed to have a very easy and comfortable pregnancy with so few clothes.
I did not wear so much makeup but I never gave up my lipstick.
As a matter of fact, being a mother makes a woman beautiful in a natural way. It would actually be enough to remember that.
