Do you think pushing baby carriage with your empty hand while holding the baby’s bag with the other hand is enough? How successful are husbands in showing the same enthusiasm and interest during pregnancy?

Pregnancy is one of the most important and critical periods in a woman’s life. There is nothing more normal than expecting the biggest support from our life partners.

As time passes, we see that fathers spend more and more time with their small children. However, it is very critical to show the same support and interest during the pregnancy for the psychology of their spouses and for this process to be easier.

You can add more happiness to your sweet home by paying attention to suggestions we make for fathers in this article at Mom’s Land.

- Although mothers face the biggest difficulties during pregnancy, they can overcome them with their instincts. Mother’s instincts make it easier for them to get psychologically ready for the process. Most fathers realize the seriousness of the situation and what is happening just at the latest stages of the pregnancy.  To avoid this mistake, and make most out of this experience, get psychologically ready to stand by your spouse during the whole pregnancy.

Now you have a second job and a new work partner. Get ready to work together. You can help your pregnant spouse at home as she cannot catch up with every chore as before. You can put the dirty clothes into the washing machine or clean the house with vacuum cleaner. Whatever you do, you should do the heavy work. In particular, you should

- undertake compelling activities such as lifting, moving and pushing.

- Arrange your daily activities according to your spouse.  Give priority to her needs and wishes.

- Although pregnancy means happiness and a new start for a couple, it also brings its own troubles. Although these difficulties are temporary, you should talk to your spouse and show her that you always support her and stand by her side. Don’t forget that, happier days are ahead of you waiting for your family.

- Your responsibilities include taking care of your pregnant spouse’s health.  You should control everything from the food she eats to water she drinks.

- Be sure your spouse, who will be a mother soon, eats healthier food. Go shopping and buy healthy food for cooking. You can go out and walk and do stretching together with her in accordance with doctor’s advices.

- Be proactive. If you want to help your partner who is physically burdened during pregnancy, you can think ahead of her. You should do the daily planning. Try to support her chores before she asks for it. Identify your needs and keep everything ready when the time comes. Always try to think two steps ahead. This new system will make your partner very happy and will get some work off from her shoulders. Remember:  your spouse's happiness is your happiness.

-  Stand by her side.  Make sure she knows that you support her unconditionally. Even if she gets angry at you, show that you support her. Don’t forget that pregnancy is a rough road physically as well as psychologically. As a companion, being together with your partner could be more important than anything else.
